Projects Overview

1. Establish temporal and spatial relationship between genetic, biophysical and morphological determinants in the formation of cardiac cushions and limb buds by simultaneous measurement of viscoelastic tissue properties and expression levels of characteristic gene products across developmental stages.

2. Study of the influence of molecular determinants on cardiac cushion fusion and limb bud formation by perturbing the expression levels of ECM and ECM-organizing proteins.

3. Study of the influence of biophysical determinants on cardiac cushion fusion and limb bud formation using in vitro assays under variable physical conditions.

4. Building living structures of specific shape and functionality employing the technology of bioprinting and guided by the results from projects 1-3.

5. Modeling of the various morphogenetic processes studied in the above experimental projects.
